
Rescue Heroes was nothing short of a phenomenon. The line started out in the 1990s as an action figure line for boys where the figures could easily stand on their oversized feet and use amazing rescue tools. Keeping action figures standing up was a surprisingly big issue due to small feet on most figures. Rescue Heroes solved that problem.

Boys really gravitated to Rescue Heroes and tended to get deep into the line. Fisher-Price invested in an animated series in the late 1990’s time frame when I joined the team. By then, there was already an animated series in place and a movie was on the horizon. Fisher-Price started including DVDs in the retail leads which helped get even more kids excited about the line.

Voice Tech was the first heavily electronic segment of the line that I proposed. It played into the storytelling element of Rescue Heroes that boys were so interested in. I led the scripting, sound recording, and content development while working collaboratively with the designers leading the figure and vehicle designs. The Voice Tech Figures were incredible because even though they didn’t technically communicate with each other, they magically seemed like they did. They spoke over 100 phrases
